How long does it take for MacStadium to provide a base image with the latest macOS major version after its release?
Orka does not interfere with macOS and macOS installation in any way. This means that almost as soon as Apple introduces a new stable major version of macOS, MacStadium can provide a new base image to users.
Currently, the rate at which you can upload an image to the Orka storage is ~10G per hour. We're working on providing a more elegant and user-friendly way to handle user uploads in the future.
Orka base images are stored as
.img files in the NFS storage of your cluster. Default Orka environments come configured with 1 terabyte of NFS storage per cluster.
This storage resembles a directory where you can copy existing images, version them, or upload as many base images as you need. It is not a local Docker registry.
